It’s identifiable as a Web 2.0 application by:

 

• the trust that it gives its users, as it controllers of information
• the harnessing of collective intelligence
• the pages are no longer static; the use of hyperlinks and interactivity

 

It empowers produsers because it allows freedom in that it enables users to post their thoughts on whatever may be on their mind at a particular stage. Secondly, blogs are all personal, hence it is empowering due to the users ability to be the sole creator and manipulator of their own work.

 

It is sustainable, first and foremost, because it’s users build up a certain a reliance on the technology to fulfil one’s now “necessary” impulse. Secondly, as the technology is self-reflexive, it is constantly updating itself, hence keeping up with the everyday needs of its “produsers.”
